Travel to Zaragoza
You can fly directly to Zaragoza airport from Brussels, Bucharest, Cluj Napoca, Lisbon, London, Milan, Paris, Venice and Vienna, but not every day. However, there are fast trains from both Madrid and Barcelona, both of which have much larger airports with a greater variety of flight options.
From Madrid city centre
A fast train travels between the main railway stations of Madrid and Zaragoza, departing once or twice per hour with a travel time of ~1h15 mins. i.e. from Madrid-Puerta de Atocha (centre of Madrid) to Zaragoza-Delicias (centre of Zaragoza, about 3 km from the conference location).

From the airport to Madrid city centre
The Spanish railway company RENFE connects Madrid with Madrid-Barajas Airport (Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas airport) through the local train network service “Cercanías” C1 and C10 lines. (Aeropuerto T4 – Estación de Atocha), with a journey time of around 30 minutes.

Alternatively, the metro https://www.metromadrid.es/en connects the airport to the centre of Madrid.
From Madrid airport (terminal 4)
There is a bus which goes directly from Terminal 4 at Madrid Barajas airport to the main train station in Zaragoza. There are plenty of departures every day and the journey takes about 3h45 mins.

From Barcelona
A fast train travels between the main railway stations of Barcelona and Zaragoza, departing once or twice per hour with a travel time varying between ~1h25 and 1h55 mins depending on the departure. i.e. from Barcelona-Sants (centre of Barcelona) to Zaragoza-Delicias (centre of Zaragoza, about 3 km from the conference location).

From the airport to Barcelona city centre
There is a direct connection from Barcelona airport to Barcelona-Sants, using the suburban railway service line R2. (Aeroport – Barcelona-Sants), with a journey time of around 17 minutes.

Update Feb. 2023: There are now options for trains between Madrid or Barcelona and Zaragoza with other operators OUIGO and IRYO. This means that there are now more departures during the day to choose from.
